This reminds me of what happened many years ago when the makers of CoolEdit 2000 and later CoolEdit Pro ended up selling out to Adobe.  If you'd bought the core CoolEdit software, you were down for something like $300 - $400 between buying plug-ins and being made to pay for version updates.  Then one day out of the blue they announced immediate suspension of CoolEdit and Adobe Audition was announced as the replacement.  But in order to get version 1.0 of Adobe Audition, instead of grandfathering CoolEdit license owners, you had to buy a brand-new Audition 1.0 license for either $100 or $150, can't remember the exact amount.  Totally classless move IMO by CoolEdit/Adobe that pulled the rug out from under long-time users.

^^ what he say!

That said, Steinberg is reliable and a decent place to land.
The $150 is subsiding their support start-up.... Grumble-grumble...

Avid and Logic probably import, if change is in the wind.
Do Avid or Logic Pro import existing libraries?

I've been a solid Dorico user since v.1.0. I jumped ship after Avid bought out Sibelius.

Not sure what you're asking about Avid (you mean Pro Tools?) or Logic Pro. Are you talking about DAW projects, libraries, or score/notation files?
