Title: Primo microphone capsules?
Post by: lpmaskman on August 29, 2024, 03:52:01 PM
How good are the Primo microphone capsules? I'm thinking about buying a few and build some extra stealth mics.
How to obtain them inside the EU?

I read the EM282 can handle 136dbSPL. But this needs 5V, how to power it properly with a 3-wire battery box?

Is it really worth to build?

Any experiences in live with loud metal music?

Very similar capsules have internal microphones of hand held recorders. It's the same quality, so the only advantage over a hand held recorder is that you can choose your own microphone setup.

I have primo omni capsules, I have them for recording lectures. I use them with two wire battery box 9V. It is without problems. But the lectures are very quiet compared to the concert.
