Hey folks,
I've been running a rig for a while, and I know that I can improve it in many areas. Right now for my live setup i have: Oktava MC-012's > XLR > Presonus Bluetube stereo preamp > XLR > AT CP8201 XLR to 1/4" impedence matching transformers > 1/4" Y cable > 1/8" adapter > PCM-M1.
I'm basically looking for the lowest cost alternative to remove the analog hiss. How can i improve my analog liineage?
any help is much appreciated as i've been trying to figure this out for a long time.

why do you need this in the chain? isn't the Presonus' output already line level?

UA-5

Get a UA5. Check out the yard sale...saw one for $250. Another 50 bucks will buy you a sweet lithium battery.
So for 300 bucks you can get rid of everything between your mics and your M1. ;D

UA-5
another vote for a UA-5
you will probably need a 7-pin cable to go UA-5>M-1 digitally

analog hiss? interesting..one of the things I don't miss since going digital, something that the chain has got to be causing it.

now that I think of it, when i was recording with the same setup but to a sharp md-ms702, i didn't get any hiss. Has there been any issues with the M1 line-in?

was the switch on mic-in or line-in?
