Title: firewire 410 optical output ?

so i have a pretty simple question...

while running my firewire 410 with my laptop, will the bit depth/sample rate of the optical be the same as when im recording with my pc?

im assuming so since this is configured by the pc for the 410... just wanted to check to see if i could take optical patchers

if not i guess i need to get some 1/4" stereo > rca cables made or bought

I've given optical patches before to a MD with no problem...
