Using Tascam FR-AV2 and ca-11 mics - 1 channel of my preamp recently stopped working and not sure I need a preamp if using 32 bit float and with decent preamps in the recorder. I was looking at the SP-XLRM-MINI-2-PHANTOM but want to be sure it would power the ca-11's properly. I also have the sound pros battery box with 12v battery. Any thoughts or suggestions?

"This device is an adaptor for plug-in power mics, which enables the mics to be connected to standard professional microphone preamplifiers or digital recorders with phantom powered XLR inputs. The adapter supplies the appropriate voltage to the plug-in power microphones, and provides a balanced, low impedance output to the microphone preamplifier.
The left and right channels of the adapter operate independently, so phantom power must be supplied to both channels for stereo operation. The adapter requires +9V to +48V phantom power to operate (supply voltage to microphones will be reduced with phantom power supply of less than +12V).
The adapter supplies +5V to each microphone channel."

Should work perfectly.
Looks like the line in can provide PIP as well.
Camera/EXT/TC IN jack (can provide plug-in power)
Why not try that at home first?

Thank you for the response and confirmation! I definitely will try at home first, just would hate to damage anything with too much or not enough power. I was wondering if the line in would provide enough levels/gain? With the Tascam mk100 I had to use XLR's for higher levels if not using a preamp. Obviously before 32 bit float which I am new to.
My first recorder was a Sony d6 in the early 90's for Dead shows. Things have come a long way. :)

Can confirm that the FR AV2 will power the CA11s adequately from the PIP input. I tested it at a relatively loud rock show.
Here's a clip - City and Colour recorded in line with stacks from 25ft away sorta loud nothing crazy - https://on.soundcloud.com/vLSUWjryQZS62SPU6 (https://on.soundcloud.com/vLSUWjryQZS62SPU6)
