Has anyone found any quality handheld audio recorders that are Chinese company produced? I find it hard to believe nobody builds and sells a Chinese branded recorder for the Chinese market.

Whether this device counts as high quality I don't know but it's Chinese and widely available in Australia -

Thanks. I actually bought one of these when they first showed up on Amazon. The onboard mics were worse than my Samsung phone for recording. The thing sounded fair when using Clippys and 3.5mm jack. But, the PIP tested out to be only 2.05v. Big screen was good but not up to par with a cheap Zoom or Tascam. One of the buttons got stuck so I sent it back.

Most recorders are already Made in China. Why does it have to be made by a Chinese company?

Just looking for another high quality recorder to try. The Chinese market is so large I feel like there is probably something out there I have not been able to find yet. I have searched Baidu and others but nothing but small voice recorders.

Thanks for your Xvive review - I've now knocked that one off my "tempted to buy for no reason" list!

Not a Chinese company made for the Chinese market. And old.

Old and very good.
What's your obsession with the Chinese market? ;D

If you want a recorder from a Chinese company made for the Chinese market then you get a recorder which probably speaks only several Chinese languages, not English, no need for that language. If you are Chinese (in some way) and can read Chinese then no problem, if not good luck.

^ I recall reading some posts here from people that bought an Asian recorder (maybe Sony from Japan) it didn't have an English option. I guess they have region-specific versions sometimes.

No problem if it is only Chinese menu. I think people are missing my point. I am just looking for another good handheld recorder with built in mics to try. The Chinese electronics market is huge. I feel like there has to be a great recorder made for their market. But even when searching I am just not finding any. I have used China IP with Baidu and still no luck. There might just not be one but I am hopeful.

I think we would have heard of it if it was out there. But I can understand that it's odd that nothing is coming to light. There are some very sophisticated audio devices out there from Chinese companies like Hollyland, but not the kind you are looking for. Maybe they regard the market as saturated and not worth developing for.

Built in mics not good on any of the recorders. Fair is best you will find.
