I've got a pair of Beyerdynamic MC740 mics that the original cases are too big for my liking. Does anyone have any recommendations for cases for a pair of LDC mics they like? I had an Apache 2800 from Harbor Freight and moved them in there along with a pair of shock mounts, but might like something smaller if they exist. I was wondering if a carbon fiber or plastic tube might be the way to go, to still utilize a lowepro nova 4 as a gear bag. TIA.

I use a 1 small pelican case for my 2/ 414s + windscreens. I just mount the shocks to the stands and carry those in separate.

Thanks. I've used the photo bag for so long it's been a part of my taping experience for over 25 years. I think I just need to give it up. I rearranged the HF case and I have the mics, shock mounts, battery, and recorder in the case. I have the cables and gaff tape around the stand. I just need to find something to do with the giant rycote foam windscreens, and I think I can make it work. I intentionally went and taped to see if this would work for me, and it did for the most part, and once I find a small bag for the windscreens, I think I'll be set.

I use just the foam Neuman windscreens for the 414s they squish inside the case and add another layer of cushion topside.

When I tape with my ADK LDC mics I keep the windscreens on them and put them in bourbon bottle bags then arrange the dividers in my Lowepro 200AW to fit them snug in individual little compartments then add a piece of foam at the bottom of the compartment.
It's not as secure as a hard case with padding but they are well protected from shock and moisture and they have never had a problem.

This is $6, waterproof and crush resistant, and holds 6 SDC's (Line Audio and Schoeps CMC1 for me) with a light foam or bubble wrap sheet around each one to keep them from rubbing each other:

I use it because it's significantly lighter than Pelican Micro, which I stopped lugging around because it weighs more than mics. Probably less waterproof for scuba diving and less likely to survive a tank being driven over it, but not too much less.

This is how I used to carry a pair of ADK TLs a few decades back, already mounted in the shocks with windscreens on them. Not super compact, but quick, convenient and well-protected-
