is this kosher for 24/96 usb>laptop recording?
bit for bit, no resampling and all the good stuff?
I *think* this is used by many people for firewire->laptop.
no firewire on the transit. just usb. as i understand it, usb is only good for recording up to 24/48. people have had all kinds of issues trying to do 24/96 over usb. i use the m-audio firwire audiophile to do 24/96 on my laptop. if you have a firwire port on your lappy, i highly suggest looking into it.

All those people tend to be PC users. My macs have never had problems with 24/96 over USB...
I have not had any problems with my PC running 24/96 via USB. Take if for what it's worth.
is the m-audio firewire a a/d unit? or just an interface, as in, can I pass my V3 through it for lappy recording via firewire?

i believe it is both an a/d and an interface. you can pass the V3 signal through it. i run soundfield > V3 > firewire audiophile > laptop.
cool, will have to check one out then now that I have a new laptop
