Title: Cassette transfers
Post by: TheBishop on August 19, 2025, 11:18:19 AM
I apologize in advance... I did try to search, but didn't find what I was looking for.

I have several cassette masters (and maybe one or two 1st gens that are not circulating) from back in the day that I either never transferred to digital, did transfer but lost the file, or did transfer, ripped to cd, and then lost the transfer and the CD I burned is f*cked. I still have my old Nakamichi BX-150s and a Denon tape deck, but none of them have been used in a loooong time, and I don't trust them. These tapes were recorded on a buddy's Sony TC-D5M and I do not have access to it.

Is there a reputable service that will transfer the cassettes to lossless format for a reasonable fee? These are tapes that were made in the late '90s and would include the Black Crowes, Ratdog, and The Other Ones, and maybe some more, I'd have to check.

I could potentially do a batch, I have a Nak 582 sitting here not busy... and an LX-3, in fact...

I can do a few. Not known for my quick turnaround but I'll do some if you are in need.
