Title: Buzz sound when amplified
Post by: bmubart on August 21, 2025, 04:19:07 AM
Hi,

This weekend I recorded Mogwai at Pukkelpop (Belgium) (great gig!) and sometimes I notice a sort of buzz when amplified:

Original recording:

Amplified (notice a buzz after 3 or 9 seconds):

I was wondering what caused this?  And also if I can get it out of the recording (I tried Izotope RX 10 and to EQ it using a 'bell', both with no great succes  :banging head:)

In the louder parts of the show I hear no artifacts.

Thanks for the help!

Recorded with Sony M10, SP-SPSB-10 BB and CA14 Cards

Generally you can remove most of the buzzing through the iZotope's De-Clicker. Regarding the buzzing, my best guess would be some kind of electromagnetic interference, but that's not my expertise!

De-Click to the rescue!  Thanks for the tip: the buzz is gone!  :smash:
