I tried rx11, audacity, r8brain and foobar2000. some of the results said 44 16 in properties or info, but the file size was the same as the original and is not recognized with my car stereo usb input. there is a good chance it is operator error, but any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

iI use Goldwave (File > Batch Processing). Very simple to use.

I use Reaper.
Not all apps are 32bit-float aware.
-
Audacity will do it
Sample rate of output is session rate, selected lower left corner
Bit depth is selected in dialog box when u export
Edit
Note that I am referring to audacity 2.4.2
I refuse to use version 3+ because as I understand it, those all require a connection to some remote server which I find somewhere between unnecessary and malevolent.

In Audacity:
- File -> Export Audio
- Format: WAV
- Sample Rate: 44100 Hz
- Encoding: Signed 16-bit PCM
If your player still won't play that, maybe try exporting to MP3 (while still setting Sample Rate to 44100 Hz)

I use 3.7.6 and am not connected to anything on the internet. You can skip signing up for that during the install.

I use Soundforge version 13. Part of my normal workflow after tracking.
