Title: Line out is quiet
Post by: Willie T. on June 18, 2004, 09:10:38 PM
I am trying to listen to my computer over my reciever (Denon 1843), I am running line out (stereo mini) > 2 rca that connect to the back of the reciever.  Even when the volume is up almost all the way on the reciever, the sound is barely audible.  Any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing the line-out output levels are adjustable - have you tried increasing the output levels?

Is the sound audible when you run the computer to a pair of powered computer speakers?

Yes it operates normally when plugged to powered speakers, and the sound card I am using is an ESS Alegro.  Thanks again.

Johnny cable is one I made myself, it's worked in other applications.  As for ohm, iin the past i have done a similar thing by running my md's line out to the reciever.  I will check that again, maybe there's a setting i am missing.  Thanks alot, and +Ts to all.

so how's the coast treating you J?  I miss ya here in Indiana.

What happens if you hook only one channel up?

Is it possible to try a different cable, perhaps this one is grounding out somewhere???  Possibly on the PC side??

I tested the cable with my multimeter and it says that all the connections are good, I guess i am at a loss.  So maybe i did the wiring wrong, so if some one know's a good webpage or want's to describe it, i wouldn't be more thankful.
