So I got a Matthews reverse stand, and a cheap t-bar, and the T-bar has a 5/8 -3/8 adapter for attaching it to things. The Matthews reverse stand just has a smooth top. How do I attach my T-bar to the top of the stand ? I was thinking about getting a tap & die set & putting 5/8 27 threads onto the top of the stand, or is there some kind of clamp hardware I can get that makes attaching a T-Bar & 2 mics easy ?

That link goes to four choices. The one grawk gave you is most standard. We call this thing a rapid adapter but that may be an actual brand name.
Good thing to have in your gear bag.
