Title: Peak stands

Not sure why the stand alone is discontinued.

It's a tank. I use it at least twice a month. No affill....

Nice.  Thanks for sharing your experience.

FWIW, I like to use light stands, not mic stands.  They generally can go higher than mic stands.  At a show that I'm open taping, I need to be at least 9 feet in order to get mics far enough above the chompers to put their annoying voices in the background of my recordings.

Those Peak table top stands are more sturdy than they look. I've had one for years. Obviously great for tables or on stage, but I've even used an extension on mine to run ~head height in areas with limited space, so long as I can secure/bungie/tape the base and the standing portion to something. Carrying just an extension and the small stand makes for a nice low pro rig setup, but you need to be somewhat aware of your access surroundings beforehand to make it work like that.
