The discontinuation of Apogee Meta Recorder led me down a rabbit hole. The audio recorder app for the iPhone "AUM" allows multi-channel recording.
So that got me thinking. How to get 4 channels of sonosax (or other ADC) into the phone. It LOOKS like Sonosax l+r in, out via aes, in to second sonosax Aes IN, add in that device's L+R, then usb audio out to iPhone.
THAT enables double midside, ambisonics, and OMT techniques with iPhone as a recorder. So a multichannel rig that can fit in a small bag.
Following.
I see where you're going with that.
Nominally similar, a few years back I was hoping to find a way to run multiple DPA d:vices (MMA-A) into a single phone for multichannel recording
I'd definitely prefer that too, for the situations I'm thinking of.
I record regularly with the Teenage Engineer TX6 to Iphone for 6 stereo input recording. I tried AUM but didn't like the interface. I liked Cubasis for the phone interface much more than the AUM, but it works well for recording the multichannel interface.
