Title: anyone clean their DA 20mkII themself??
Post by: Gordon on June 23, 2004, 11:32:35 PM
needs more than a cleaning tape.  I know there is a thing in the datheads archive about it.   Is it as easy as it sounds/reads??

Yep, it is. Hardest part for me was figuring out which screws to take off to remove the shell, but other than that, easy going. :)

Here's a terrific link I found a while back. It doesn't have anything specific to the DA-20, but has a boatload of info on various problems that home decks have:

Thanks alot, greenone.........lot of good stuff at that link.  Removing the shell exposes the head and guides, then?  I think I'll give it a try. :D

DA 20 is very easy to open.  If you have those rack side plates off ( 2 big screws each) , its just 3 screws in the back to get the cover off.  I'm not sure of how to clean it other than a cleaning tape, but I use one of those compressed air cans to get dust out once in a while.
