Title: Universal Car Adapter which will provide 5v
Post by: Nick in Edinboro on June 28, 2004, 01:32:02 PM
I need a link to a car adapter that has the switchable settings so I can output 5v.

Searched the boards here, all my google searchs provide cell phone charging dealie-bobs, as did RadioShack.com -- I think I might just need the right keyword to provided links to the ones that have the correct plug on the end for consumer electronics like the JB3?  I'm not sure.

Big +T if you can recommend a brick and mortar store and a part number ;D

I don't think I could find the Creative car adapter if I tried, also this might be a worthy addition to the JB3 FAQ as I looked their first to no avail.  I essentially just want to charge my JB3 at some points during AllGood when it's not being recorded onto..

Thanks much,
Nick

There is a whole forum about JB3 power. There is a $16 walmart car plug in there that people are using. It does 4.5volts and works with the jb3 apparently.

The 16 dollar WalMart one is called the "Powerline Digital Universal Car Cord Adapter." Rated at 3-12Volts DC/2000mA. And to save you some time wading through the JB3 external power thread I powered mine at the Wakarusa fest just fine with the following method. 12v 7.2Ma SLA battery>hacked car adapter>JB3. Whole setup cost about 40 bucks.

Thanks man, ya I am not looking for a external powering method, just an actual AC adapter so that I can charge my JB3 in the car inbetween sets I'd like to tape..  No SLA's for me thank you very much ;D ;D   That $14 unit should do me fine, thanks again for the name of it/etc.

If I was trying to get more acts that'd be the way to go though, I'm just a patcher dork at this fest though, not bringing all my gear.

Thanks again,
Nick
