Title: question re. AT8533x power modules
Post by: Unitmonster on June 29, 2004, 05:28:45 AM
I've been looking into adding these mics to my rig for a bit (planning to go AT853rx>8533 modules>PS2>AD-20>JB-3) and am a bit worried about the portability of the setup. I've seen two different photos of the power modules, one that looks like a box and another that basically looks like the end of an xlr cable.  Can anybody clarify if there's a difference, and if you can choose between these two types? Or am I confusing two different products?

Thanks!

AT8531 is a box like you said
AT8533 is a connector-type with mini-xlr input (Samson PM4 is the same thing but cheaper)
AT8533x is a connector-type with hard-wire input

thanks for clarifying.  So the one that comes with the 853rx is the 8533x, correct?

But the samson doesn't have bass rolloff...

well, seeing as they're hard-wired, I'll be using the 8533x's.  Can't wait to get this stuff up and running!
