Title: DVD backups (4+gigs onto DVDR) Help?
Post by: cleantone on July 04, 2004, 11:16:30 AM
Hello,

I'm trying to figure out how to backup Digital Performer 3 sessions onto DVDR. I have a lot of sessions that get huge like even over 20gigs. I run OS9.2 and OSX. I have Toast Titanium 6. Is there a way to chop the sessions to fit onto 4.7gb DVDR media and have the ability to recombine in the future?

Please help if you can. All my firewires are full.

Do you have Stuffit Deluxe?  If so you can create an archive and have Stuffit split it into DVD size files.

I have Stuffit 7.0.3 I'm gonna read the guide now. I've only used it to decompress. Thanks.

Any more info, please post...

What you'd need to do is create a new archive, drag all of your files you want saved into that archive, and then go to "Translate > Segment."  You'll then have to choose a custom file size, and put in 47000000 (or whatever 4.7 gigs translates to in Kb).  After that you should be good to go.
