Title: MBHO KA 1100 K
Post by: creekfreak on July 05, 2004, 10:13:44 PM
Anyone ever use these? After playing with the TL's for some time I have really grown to like the LD sound, especially omni's. I bet these 1100k run split would sound very, very nice. Expensive, but I am curious and like to play ;D They also make a LD card MBHO cap also.

at first night Camp Bisco 2002 I helped a guy split a pair of these 40'(each cap was centered to the stack in front of it).
besides wind(no windscreens) and the terrible downpour, I liked the recording.

you got to match the MBHOs with the right pre-amp though. a V2/V3 would make them sound on the thin side

I think it depends on the pre / ad combo...I ran the mbho's with a v2 and modsbm-1, loved the sound.

I wonder if that was mainly because of the modSBM-1?

I thought the V2 was just a *little* to transparent for the TLs(and MBHO are similar in the bright aspect)

well, the modsbm-1 does add that needed warmth, but my ears have always liked grace pre's no matter what the mics, but we are all wired different......I love my V3 with the TL's.
