sounds good, bass is a little lacking, but that could also be due to it being in mp3 format. Mp3's always seem to lack definition to me
-
The lack of bass here would have very little to do with mp3 format. Actually, in the low low bass (below 100Hz) there is quite a bit of bass. But it is missing the punchy bass (120Hz or so on up). The recordings overall sound nice and clean to me. What equipment did you use to record? And, why two samples of almost the same thing?

there's plenty of bass in the recording, perhaps the sample wasn't the best spot to hear it. the bass is deep and punchy. again, the sample was not the optimum spot to hear it.
2 sources are:
at853 (din, 90deg)>at8533>mv100>m1
ak40 (ortf)>lc3>km100>mp2>mme>m1
on the same stand about 8.5' up. just behind the sbd, DFC!! we were about 30' from stage.
can you tell which is which? :)
i like the ak one better, but the at853 one ain't too shabby either.

when I listened last night I was gonna say the second sample was better, so obviously I'd say that is the ak40. Can you pM me the answer?

That makes feel not so bad about running AT 853s! I can tell which is which because I'm familiar with the tone quality of the AT's. Though I do like the other sample better, it gives a little more mid-range presence which helps it to feel like you can actually hear it without having to turn up the volume. The only issue with the AT recording is the L/R balance is screwy.
