Title: Dpa 4061 Soft Boost or High Boost Grid ??
Post by: KingReptile on July 13, 2004, 09:40:40 PM
Which grid do most of u use ??? I record classic rock to heavy metal ,I was thinking that the high boost would be the best all around since most rock is bassy...Any thoughts??

Thanks,
Tom

if close, I use NO grid and moderate bass rolloff.  from further away, the soft boost grid and bass rolloff only if the bass is overpowering or boomy.  those grids don't do anything to control the bass and only brighten the sound.

craig,
you can actually get the grids off?!
i use the soft boost grids exclusively, mostly because i see little reason to change them and partly because i can't change them anyway!

i was a fraid, too, but just went for it...

i have a pair of 4060

just hlod the base of the mic, and kind of twist the grid off...

i thought you were supposed to use the grid that shows more of the element...
