Title: Valence N-Charge Power System II - first test run
Post by: gewwang on July 14, 2004, 12:33:57 AM
Picked up this laptop battery at Best Buy over the weekend and finally got a chance to test it out tonight at home:
http://www.valence.com/ncharge2.asp

Running V3 @24/48 into the VXPocket V2 into a Sony PCG-SRX87/Wavelab 4.0, the ncharge lasted ~ 2.5 hrs. It's now running off the internal laptop battery and will probably go another 1.5 hrs. For this run I left the monitor on at 100% brightness. How much more time should I expect to get if I dim the monitor 10 min after starting the recording? In the field I should be able to monitor levels off the v3, so the monitor will probably be off under normal conditions.

I plan on testing it again without the monitor but curious if anyone else has been using this battery.

Turning the monitor brightness down saves a SHITLOAD of battery power.  I'd say you'd get another hour or more out of it...

I have the older version of this batt. With my screen on full time I also got 2.5 hours.

With the screen set to turn off in 3 seconds I can get a little over 4 hours.
