Can I make a 5/8">3/8" adapter for T-bar @ my local home depot?

3/8 F > 5/8 M are pretty cheap at most audio/video or camera shops. around $3 or so.

I looked around at harware stores and they don't carry the 5/8 27 thread size. As Leegeddy mentioned, a local camera show would be your best bet.

5/8 to 3/8 adapter Some shock mounts require a 3/8 male thread.  This adapter converts 5/8 to 3/8. $5
