Title: 48 > 44.1 question
Post by: highwayjill on July 29, 2004, 11:38:34 PM
i was about to resample this wav i just transferred... its about 60 min, and with nothing else running on my comp (windows explorer, systray and soundforge) it was going to take 2 hours to resample (i stopped it after it was only 25% complete after 30 min).  Is that normal?  And if not, what do i need to change to make it not take that long?

If you are using a high quality resample, that sounds to be about right. I bet there is a setting to change the quality of the resample... Id go with the highest though if you are doing a show...

ugh... will it screw up the file in anyway if i do other things on the comp (email/message boards/etc) while resampling?

Resampling is the sort of thing you start when you're going to sleep or leaving the house for a few hours.  If your computer isn't a beefed-up scream machine, I'd avoid doing anything else for two reasons:
1) Risk of messing up the resampling
2) Whatever you are trying to do will be slow as hell

and we all know that when you need pr0n, you need it quick  ;)
