hey folks,
I'm off to a show in one hour (9:30 EST, Friday July 30), and I don't have time to fully charge my SLA...
I think I will have enough juice in the SLA to power the D8, but I'm not sure, and I don't want to chance losing this one.
what happens if I put 4 AA's in the sled, and use the external power? If the external power dies, will the internal AA's kick in? is this really bad? should I just run the internal AA's for this one and forget about trying to use the SLA? any ideas?
thanks for any help, even if you post this after I leave for my show tonight, it would be good to know for future. although I usually charge my SLA's enough in advance...

what kind of batts and how long of a show ???
put some lithiums in there and you'll go for a pretty long time, def 4+ hrs :)
w/ out the backlight of course ;)

it's a 7.2 amp-hour SLA, and it's only has to power the D8. but it's been 3 months since I last used this battery, and I don't really know how much juice is in there. it'll be a two set show, think one hour for the first set, and one and a half for set 2, so 2.5 overall. I guess I'll pick up some AA's on my way ::)

yeah, they discharge about 1% a day soooo, thats 90 percent of the battery gone :P

thanks for the help. with any luck, I'll be able to get AC power at the show.
(the band is already giving me free drinks at the bar, I'd feel bad if I didn't end up with a nice tape for them)
+t for the info
