When I try to upgrade...
Says "Battrey levels too low. Please charge your battey and restart the application."
I dont have the battery in...
Could my power supply be faulty...?
The batteries on this unit will not charge.
In fact, the unit wont start at all with the battery in.
It seems to freak the player for a while...even after I take it out...finally it does restart...
this unit seems to be more sensitive to heat than most...

Put your battery in and give it a full charge....
Once the battery is charged....
Do the firmware update again....
I had that same issue when i got mine a couple weeks ago.
Ok i can't read......it says the batteries won't charge....
is it a re-furbished? or brand new?

take all of the batteries out and just use ac power.

...i've never tried d'loading with the batteries in it....

iirc, when i updated my my iriver h140's firmware, the instructions specifically state to have the unit running on battery power. Maybe its the design of the unit that doesn't allow it to be updated with ac power only?

You need the jb3 battery close to fully charged to update firmware. I had the same problem when I just used the external plug (and no internal battery). Once I added a charged internal and external, I had no problems updating firmware (used firewire; usb would not work.)

never been a problem for me, with no batteries and only plugging it into the wall.
