Title: What are the chances of getting power from the board?
Post by: Sanjay on July 31, 2004, 04:04:33 PM
I ordered another njb3 battery from the guy on ebay that everyone reccommended, well he charged me $7 for shipping and took 3 days to mail it, and on top of that is mailing it first class, asshole.  Anyhow I am taping tommorow OAR, Howie Day and Matt Nathanson and I only have one battery.  OAR is a pretty good band in terms of allowing sbd feeds and all, so what are the chance I could get power if I ask nicely, does anyone know?

I hear the OAR soundguy is pretty accommodating.  Just ask nicely and early, like John said. ;D

I concur: get there early and be real nice. I think a lot will have to do with the size of the venue and just how busy the FOH person is. Sometimes the answer is yes; but they aren't able to get to you for a bit. If they say yes, be patient and get the rest of your stuff squared away. Make sure you have a good extension cord of sufficient length and some gaffer's tape to secure it. You (and more importantly, your new FOH buddy) don't want people tripping over the cord during the show, hurting themselves or damaging equipment.

not a bad idea to bring a 3-way outlet splitter JIC.  I've used mine before, and the foh guy was impressed that I was prepared.
