I was thinking about running a sbd/mix on the spot with my mixpad. My question is what levels would you set each at, 50% sbd 50% mics or more on the SBD side. My second question is, would there be a delay or anything with doing this that would screw up the recording?

there shouldn't be any delay and i would go 70% board and 30% aud.

In smaller situations I always prefer more aud and less board. vice versa for bigger venues. try out everything, you'll discover what works best and you should be rewarded with a fine tape.

There will be a delay in the mic sound, approximately 1 ms/ft + whatever delay may be in the p.a. (sometimes a few ms to match the kick drum up with the p.a.)
If you're more than 25 feet back, you might just prefer one source.

I also prefer to use more AUD than SBD...Depending on the venue, I may roll the bass off a few db on the SBD source (not sure the mixpad has this)...but "matrix on the fly" is really hit or miss...
Ideally you should record each source independently - at the same sample rate - and matrix them later on your computer. Then you can play with the timing of each souce - which makes a big difference, as well as the blend...
I've been told that you cant matrix resampled sources...? Like: you cant make a 48>44.1 source work with a source that was originally sampled at 44.1

Thanks for all the help. This is an outdoor venue (high falls rochester), I'm not exactly sure how large but I would imagine the board would be some distance away, and thats where i'd be taping from. what would be the maximum distance you would do an on the fly matrix from without worrying about the delay? Or is it basically a waste of time and I should do either or? Sorry for asking so many questions.

Outdoors...the board tape should sound pretty nice...it might be best not to fiddle with it...
Keep in mind - I think even at 40 feet - small changes in air pressure...(a breezy day) can make an AUD source sound a bit "swirly" - and thus something you might not want to add to the nice tight mic'd SBD
Outdoor SBD mixes tend to be far more even...unlike small venue indoor mixes which may have certain players lower or nonexistient in the mix...
If it is the kind of event that might attract other tapers - try to find another person recording at the same sampling rate and swap sources with them...matrix it later...

That doesn't sound right. I think you would need both sources to be the same sample rate. I don't think it would matter if you are working with material originally at 44.1 or material that had to be resampled to get to 44.1.
If I'm wrong somebody please correct me and explain why it would matter.

Time is a factor in audio resolution...perhaps some "temporal resolution" is lost in sample rate conversion...
