Title: Taping the Dead this summer
Post by: spyder9 on August 04, 2004, 12:12:52 AM
Here's a classic newbie question.  I'm a newbie to taping.  I have taped a bunch of shows this summer. but now I have tickets for The Dead in Montage and Darien Lake.  I want to bring my rig and tape those shows.  Are there special Taper tickets like the old days?  I have heard that basically you take your rig through a special taper gate so they can inspect it and then they let you in, w/ ticket of-course.  Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks!!!!

Yep, in St. Louis the section was on the lawn so no special ticket was required.

They were really on fire!!!!  Much, much better than I expected.  Enjoy the show!

Thank you everybody.  I waltz right through w/ no issues.  Except: I did double check w/ security before the show, because I happen to be near the gate w/ a friend who was buying a ticket.  Security at Montage told me you need a taper ticket to record.  Can you believe that?!?  They lied to me.    I went w/ my gear any way and let them check it.  I figured you guys can't be wrong, and you weren't.
