i never had this problem w/ my old sd mics b/c the weren't as long as the akg's, but when i set them up in din the micx touch and won't allow me to get the 90 angle. i know i could put one upside down, but i was wondering if there was any other tricks? i'm using shure shocks if that makes a diff.

I modified my akg t-bar so that I added a 1.5 inch bar to raise one side up higher than the other....gotta do that for my hugeass 'Luxs to run them DIN as well. The other trick I've seen most people use is using a rapido on one side to raise it higher...same kinda concept.

AT8415 shock mounts allow you to adjust the vertical spacing between the mount and the 3/8" screw on adapter. That's how I achieve DIN and ORTF with my 480s.
If you have something like 8410s that don't give you that luxury you can also turn upside down one of the threaded connectors so that one mount is on top of the bar, and the other below.
