Title: Best Multitrack Editing program for Linux?
Post by: Scuba Jeremy on August 11, 2004, 03:40:09 AM
I'm looking to see if there are any good Multitrack editing programs that can be run in Linux. Basically this is just a crazy idea to use my Xbox for as many other things other than just playing Xbox video games. At the moment, I'm using it to watch all of my DivX movies, play all kinds of arcade games, every Atari, NES, Genesis, SNES and N64 game I've ever owned, and all kinds of 16/48 audio content on my computer.

I figure this Xbox is running more efficiently than my PC at the moment, and the SPDIF output is nice, so if there are any good Multitrack programs, like Pro Tools that can run under the Gentoo interface of Linux, I'd love to hear of them.

For 2 tracks Audacity works very well.  For multitracks, Ecasound is good.  Or check out this page and find something you like.  http://www.alsa-project.org/applications.php
