Just realized there was a newer version of CDWave than the one I was using, so I d/l'd and installed it. You can now output your tracks in FLAC, rather that outputting in WAV and later converting to FLAC with Frontend or whatever. Anybody know any reason not to use that function in CDWave?

it has worked great for me sloan, i open my uncut recorded wav from the jb3 in cd wave immediately, in 48k, and put a track marker at the beginning and end of each set to avoid sector boundarie issues, then just rename the middle(main) file that i want to use, and flac it away :)

Thanks for the heads up on this Sloan...
Does anyone have an opinion on the CD Wave sample rate conversion?

i always use cooledit at q=999 to be safe. with modern computers it does not take much and it has always been the best.

Another new feature???
I forgot the battery for my Hosa box last night ::) , so I got to do my first V2>JB3 (via RCA>mini) tape last night, couldn't run my ADC-20. My ear doesn't actually notice the nuance of different A/D's nearly as much as preamps, but I DIDN'T HAVE TO RESAMPLE, WHOO-HOO!!! (For those not familiar with the ADC-20, you can't switch between 44.1/48, they make a 44.1 version and a 48 version, you gotta buy the one you want) . . . Got the show on disc 20 minutes after I got home! New land-speed record for me.

It's done resampling as long as I can remember using it...
When you save the files it gives you the option to resample...

devil's advocate...
does this version of cdwav eliminate the SBE on the last track..? the old versions all did this...
also, by not going to WAV, you cannot make WAV.md5 files, nor can you cross-reference their shntool md5s with the ffp (although i could be the only anal on that does that)....

I believe the resampling is just done using the built in windows codec, which does not sound good. Anyone know better?
