Hello,
I'm a completely newbie from spain. I go to really lots of concerts and festivals here and I think it's time to save some of them.
I have asked in some spanish shops and I've been told that the new sony-mini-disc's models (the ones that can use discs of 1giga and more) allow to record WITHOUT compression of the signal. I really would like to record anything without compression, of course. I don't know if that is true or not...
I also have been told that the minidiscs machines are really smaller compared to dat ones... I would need a small recorder, but of course a one that does not lose audio quality compressing the original signal...
Well, this is a start, shure someone asked this before, but I don't know where to look... Later on I should ask for what 600-800$ machine could be a good one...
Muchas gracias! Thankyou very much!
:-)

all minidiscs compress no matter what.
600-800$ US would get you a great DAT. Go with DAT if you can.

Newbie as well (from Oslo), but he certainly refers to the new HiMd that should let you record 1h1/2 in PCM. But as I understood, Sony must still to provide some plug-in/patch to SonicStage to let you upload to the PC, and it will only work with sound recorded with an analog entry ... I personnaly have an older model (Sharp MD-MT190) and a MD is easy to be stealthed, but 1h1/2 of PCM on the new HiMD, even it it is a right step, is still short ...
-
maybe you should be looking at alternatives besides just dat & minidisc
nomad jb3 and the neuros hd recorder come to mind for being fairly stealtheable

What's so bad about the new Sony HiMD units coming out? I have one on back order. I thought it would record uncompressed audio.

Edited to remove all kindness and advice after seeing users website...

you should also think twice about joining a taping site where the feeling is 'quite' strong against the selling of shows and asking questions about how to tape shows. i base my comment soley upon what's on your own site (http://www.cd-bootleg.com/). please tell me i'm wrong
-
nevermind.
ass.
-
My Spanish isnt so hot, is he actually selling stuff on his site?
-
Thanks, I don't read all of the threads that pop up here, so I missed that one.
-
How do you say, "You're a piece of shit" in Spanish?
-
in portuguese slang, porto amino = son of a bitch *g*
in french, what you wanted:
vous etes une piece de merde
:D
-
some alternatives here:
eres una mierda
eres un montón de mierda
eres un pedazo de mierda
eres un mierdas
eres mierda
la mierda que te parió
-
Gratzi.

Then there's the ever-popular "me cago en las telarañas de la tumba de tu puta madre"...I shit on the cobwebs in your whoring mother's tomb. One of my faves. ;D

Sorry I could not connect until now, I don't understand the things about my site, as it is the most visited place since 1998 to know about bootlegs in spanish, in the "contacte" section it is very clear that I don't sell and just is for information and trading.
Incredible how square the people can be...
Anyway thanks for the information about the dat/minidisc.
-
we don't deal with "bootlegs" here. We deal in live tapes. Bootleg =profit = illegal.
Square? hardly.

what is also very clear is that you are asking 9 euros for each CDR here
- U2: "Salome" (3CDR), "The Ultimate 7' & 12' Collection Part II" (CDR), "Riders In The Storm" (2CDR) y "Philadelphia Special" (CDR).
Excelentes grabaciones de U2. 63€
oh, well, it seems that, if you buy a 11 CDR pack, you are giving one for free
- Led Zeppelin: "Madison Square Graffiti" (New York, 12/2/75), "Trampled Underfoot" (Dallas, 4/3/75), "The Earls Court Incident 24/5/75" y "The Earls Court Incident 25/5/75". 11CDR
Todas las grabaciones de mesa de mezclas de la excepcional gira del '75 de Led Zeppelin. 90€
yeah, right.
-
if the d00d is only making one disc, whats the harm ???
i burn ppl discs all the time and they usually give me about 5 discs per 50 pack, whats the harm in that ??? i dont 'require' that, but thats fair :)

the harm is that the guy is selling his "extra" CDRs and he is charging 9 EUROS for each of them.
63 euros for 7 CDRs
90 euros dor 11 CDRs.
jesus, if you have got some extra CDRs do some B&P or, at most, charge the cost of blanks...but 9 euros looks a tiny bit profitable to me.
-
9 euros = 10.8162 us dollars
-
nuf said, 10 bux a disc is HIGHWAY RIPOFF, just didnt know what that translated into
-
