I've got a bunch of DAT > CD transfers to do and wanted to find out what software works the best for recording.
I currently have Soundforge 6.0 and CDWave on my Sony Vaio and actually prefer CDWave for basic digital recording since it isn't such a memory hog and doesn't work the hard drive so hard. Plus it's got that handy timer feature that allows you to tell it how long to record before stopping.
So my questions are......
Are there any reasons why to not use CDWave?
What programs do you suggest & why?

cd wave is fine
if your gonna be doing any editing in the post, you can use SF, but there is no reason why cdwave wont work for the dat > pc transfers

Using CDWave versus WaveLab 5. Does anybody think that by using CDWave instead of Wavelab for recording might extend my lappie battery life? I'll do the testing later but was curious if anybody uses CDWave just for this purpose already. Not sure if WaveLab 5 is an energy hog
