Title: Low end ADK's?
Post by: smat on August 27, 2004, 11:59:33 AM: I was listening to the 7/27/04 Dead taped w ADK TL's and fell in love w the mics. Upon research I found that the TL's are about 5-8 hundred apiece. Anybody use or familiar w the less xpensive ADK's?

I use the ADK A51S LEs (Matched pairs), which are now the Hamburg (warm) and Vienna (pres). The A51s are great mics, though they only come in cardioids...

I got mine for $350 off of EBAY (Andy's Music), but I've seen similar pairs on Yard Sale here for $300.

But yeah, the TLs are VERY nice sounding and well worht the loot...

Post by: Busman Audio on August 27, 2004, 02:59:12 PM: I use the A51 STPro matched pair and I love these mics. they do omni,card,fig. 8; also have a 10db pad and bass roll off. I bought them on ebay and wow what a deal a $305 for a matched pair didn't even meet the guys reserve and he let them go anyway brand new.

Post by: creekfreak on August 27, 2004, 08:06:13 PM: I paid $795 for a matched pair that came with 2 pairs of shock mounts (regular and super), 2 pairs of wind screens and the flight case...can't go wrong with these mics.

Matched or unmatched, they are great mics for the money

It usually comes with 2 cases not the big one, windscreens, and usually not the super shock mounts but ones that people say work very well, pm me for someone to call

You can find the sc-t's new for about $200 a piece. The new model comes with omni & card caps. I've had mine since late May and have been pleased with my recordings.
