Title: Schoeps m100 c mount?
Post by: Tim on August 31, 2004, 05:22:44 PM
Anyone using this? Seems like a great versatile piece, looks like you can get any near coincident configuration that you desire as well as anything in between.

Any thoughts on it versus the standard ortf/din bars? Anyone use one for FOB work?

Tim:

wouldn't a vark bar do the same thing (and be around the same size) for a lot less $$$

so, last question... is the SGC the mount that I want? will it fit the Vark bar?

"Stand mount with swivel: 3/8"-16 internal thread; angles CCM- or MK- capsule 0°-100°"

Yes. I would go with the sgcm's, though. They are a little more expensive, but more durable because the screw is metal (instead of plastic).

Actually Moke, I think that could work. If I still had the 22's, I would check it out, but I don't see why it would'nt work. The only issue I could think of is the 22's being too small in diameter. The sgc's might not screw that tight...

fwiw, I would go with the regular sgc clips.  I used them tons without any issues.  Just use a little caution...  My logic to go with the plastic ones is that I could break 5 plastic clips @ $16 a piece before getting the full value from one pair of the metal clip @ $112 a pair.  And honestly, I wasn't so worried about breaking them...  they are awfully small and would be easy to loose!

"what do you think of these clips (sgcm's) and the 4022's? worky?"

the sgcm clips work fine with the dpa's. My friend Brent has the 4023's and we tried them with my sgcm clips and sure enough they fit just fine.

Are the 4023 lemo connectors the same size as the 4022 cable connection?

No. The Lemo connector is bigger in diameter...

This weekend I confirmed that the 4022's dont work with the sgcm clips, but the 4023's do.

Sorry about the confusion.

That's what I figured, but I think the problem can be solved by cutting a thin strip of electrical tape and rapping it around the part that gets clipped, until it fits.

or thin adhesive back foam shims??

Yep. That would work, as well.
