I got a apple Ipod and I want to know if they is any way to make it play shn or flac With out decodeing them.
-
nope
-
Thanks

But you could use the Apple Lossless codec. Yields similar file sizes to shn and flac.
-
true, thought that would involve both decoding and re-encoding to use. Am I right in concluding that the only portable hard drive player that supports flac is the Rio Karma?
-
you are correct but hopefully the rio carbon will support it eventually.
-
It could be interesting to follow Neuros developpement in that area as well ...

If Neuros were to develop flac playback support, I'd buy one in an instant!
Reviews I've read suggest that the rio karma has (had?) some serious reliability issues -- anybody that's been using one for a while care to comment?

But seems to be buggy with the iPod. My apple lossless files have a tendency to skip or simply refuse to play at times on my iPod. I've also noticed that encoding can sometimes introduce clicks and pops to the audio.
