Title: NJB3 meters
Post by: shaggy on September 01, 2004, 11:21:03 PM
Could someone gime me the poop on the NJB3's meters?  They aren't really marked, I have too little time to test out the finer points of deciphering the levels from those meters.  Running v1.40.06p

Thanks,

ANDY

well, it is hard to be very specific, but about 1/2 way is -12, just below the top section is -3 and if it goes into the top section, you're over.

With the -3 light blinking slightly on my ua-5 I get perfect levels on the jb3.

This is exactly the same deal for me.  I actually run it a little hotter than this.

TAKE NOTE : The meters on these things are very SLOW...there must be a least a few millisecond delay...

I had mine hooked up to a sony pro DAT dig out...the delay was visually obvious...the peak would occur on the Sony before it showed on the JB3

rely on your A/D for metering not the jb3

Of course it's not a scientific test or anything, but with a d8 on the coax of the ua-5 and the jb3 on the optical they seemed in synch.
hard to watch both at the same time though.

+t to you for having sharper eyes than me.
