Title: ISO: Preamp w/ db gain?
Post by: arawak420 on September 02, 2004, 08:07:27 PM
im looking into to getting a preamp for my recorder. festival seating sometimes makes for shitty seats and low level recordings. so im looking for something inexpensive if possible. 20+ gain is the most i'll need. sonic studios has one for my mics but it's $1000. way out of my league, but it does go with the mics. you know anyone that wants to buy some body parts? a male giggilo perhaps?

if you can point me in right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

one blessed, jah lives,

What mics?
What recorder?
What's your budget?
Open or stealth?
In what sort of situations (musical styles, PA volumes, venues, etc.) will you record?

There's a PSP-2 for sale in the Yard Sale, too (not 100% sure it's still available, thoguh)- great pre, IMO.  Used Sonosax SX-M2 will run about the same price.  These'll both go around $600.  MP2 and MV-100, as Schwill mentioned, will run about half that and are still good choices.
