borrowed one of the little ones that all you schoeps folks use. to small to work for me. looks like this will work. K&M
Side Bar Mic Clamp http://www.micsupply.com/standaccessories.htm
(http://www.micsupply.com/clampt.jpg)
anyone? will it safely hold that much weight? again 480s/at shocks/shure vert bar.....
-
If you mount the shure vertical bar upside down (hanging DOWN from the clamp with the 5/8" female thread @ the top of the bar) rather than rising up from the clamp, even the smallest of clams should work fine.
-
just seems like with the t bar being so close to the stand with the small clamp that my big ass at shockmounts will get in the way. that is I won't have many options for configs.
-
i've used it with akg 460's in at8410s and shure a27 vert bar with success, upright as in the photo and upside-down
-
true, you could always run it backwards too (with the shure bar BEHIND the stand) to give you room in that respect, with the short clamp, the stand shouldn't get in the way of the mics. But, a bogen/manfrotto superclamp would probably take care of all your problems

forgot to add...its a little tight, but it works
a little dark but this is one time recently i used this...it was actually craig t's clamp...i was leeeching!

I don't see why it wouldn't hold...I have a similar clamp and it seems pretty stout. I'd be more concerned about duct taping the stand to something so it doesn't tip over because it is a good bit of weight to one side.

true cliff. I allways have lots of duct with me ;) the ceiling rig is coming closer to being done. got a little vocal stand. gonna rig a 2x4 so I can screw the stand to it upside down.
