I am new to the DVD burning scene. My computer came with this program called Sonic Record now which, imho sucks. When I try to burn the DVD's that are downloaded to my hard drive, the program cannot find the contents of the DVD. Is there something that I need to do to "unzip" the DVD or decode it like I would a for a regular bittorrent to be able to use it. I simply cannot figure out how to work this program. If someone has experience with it this program, PLEASE HELP! Also, because this program sucks, could anyone possibly recommend a good DVD burning program. Thank you very much!

nero is allways a good option. trial version available or google for a crack.
dvd decrypter also has a burn program although I've used nero exclusively. I believe dvd decrypter is also freeware.
typically you put all files in the video _ ts folder and leave the audio folder empty.
make sure any extraneous files suck as artwork or md5s are removed before burning.

If you use dvd-decryptor to burn, I think that you need something else to make the iso image. I have been using imgtool which is pretty straight forward and will use dvddecryptor to burn for you.

Thanks for the help...when I open up the video_TS file a couple different files come up such as a vts 01 vob, and an IFO and an md5 file. Which of these files are to be used for burning the dvd? Again, thanks for the help!

It's all those files together that become the DVD. The authoring process generates those files as a set that includes the menuing and content. What you have to do with those is create an image that has all those files in a video_ts directory.
do this:
1) make a directory with two subdirectories, audio_ts and video_ts
2 ) put all of your video dvd files (the VOB files, etc) into the video_ts directory
3) point imgtool to the upper level directory that you created in step 1
and that's it. Imgtool will construct an image that can then be burned to disc. It depends on your system, but I run W98SE on my machine with the burner, so I have it make the image split into smaller 1G chunks. Imgtool will do this and write out a list file that is compatible as input for dvddecrypt to use as the source for buring the DVD.

With Nero, i select to burn a dvd-video and drag and drop all the files into the video_ts folder and then burn it, works flawlessly. Get Nero, it'll have everything you need and it's definitely worth it.
