i used the 391's and really liked the results. they were good indoors and out. some times i wish i still had them.

definately a step up from the c1000's

i'm still using them, sometimes they get a bit boomy, but not bad, i like them outside a lot more than inside.  DIN almost always sounds good with them, but ortf outside is nice when center and fob.

would a mixpad 4 work insted of the ps-2 and ad-20 ?

The mixpad 4 only gives 18v phantom. I bet the PS2/AD20 would sound better. I have a couple of Jackmormons shows that are 391>PS2>AD20 and think they sound nice.

how much does the ps-2 or ad-20 put out ?

shockmounts if you don't already have them, tensimounts are cheap and work with the 390's.  I believe the PS-2 puts out 48v, ad-20 doesnt put out anything it just allows you to adjust the gain.

just mentioning, bc i think you mentioned that you were running c1000's which dont need them, and i completly forgot about shockmounts when i upgraded even though I knew what they did and stuff, just so used to not using them.  Good luck.

the se300's only need 18v's so the mixpad would work.

how long can a psp-2 usually go on a new battery?  seems like it would die quickly, but a lot of people use them, so maybe not...

of course, it depends on the power dray of the mics, but I am wonderin just in general
