Hey now,
Got a stack of dats, a D-8 , a new HP Paviliion with XP Home and Sound Forge installed but can't seem to download anything to it???
How do ya go into the computer??? Have mini input as well as usb???
Where do ya try to send the wav from D-8 to computer???
And how do ya get Sound Forge to pick it up???

you need a digital soundcard with a coax in.  I suggest the M Audio Delta line.  the audiophile 24/96 is what a lot of us use.  great card.

you do have a soundcard.  but you need a DIGITAL soundcard that is capable of recording at different sample rates (not resampling on the fly) and that is bit perfect.

you could technically go line out from the dat to the line in on your computer - but that would be lossy.  a bit perfect digital sound card is definitely worth the money if you can afford it.

you will also need a 7 pin digi cable...unless you want to go line out into an analog soundcard, but that sounds like ass and isn't bit perfect by any stretch of the imagination
