Title: Onstage taping with AT853's. Omni vs. Card
Post by: Unitmonster on September 22, 2004, 04:41:22 AM
Been thinking about complementing my current setup with another set of caps, but don't know how much of a difference it'll make.

Since I tend to tape smaller shows, and have done a fair bit of onstage work, do you think omni caps are a good investment?  I've never taped onstage using cards, so i have no idea how they'd sound.

Anyone with experience in this, particularly using the AT853rx's?

Thanks!

Never done it, but I have read that split omni's are bodacious for stage!

I have been pondering purchasing some omni caps- have you found any good dealz?

so far as I know Sound Professionals have the best deal online with a pair running you about 90 bucks.  However, it looks like they only sell sub-cardioid, cardioid and hyper-card.   I don't really know if the difference between card and sub-card warrants the extra purchase.  Anyone know?
