my heart beats fast, can someone check this out.
http://eng.iaudio.com/zeroboard/product_M3_over.php?bmenu=p&id=cw5000
It supports FLAC now too, according to http://www.dapreview.net/news.php (http://www.dapreview.net/news.php)
The features has one thing that worries me: WAV (Up to 44.1khz mono), but how is that nwo, when it supports FLAC??
Look at this too (the remote WITH light): http://www.austinv.com/cpg121/displayimage.php?album=61&pos=9
Call me stupid, but these are LEVELS!!
-
Yes, it will play WAV and FLAC files but will it record them? I thought it only recorded in MP3.
It would be great if it did.

http://www.iaudiophile.net/index.php
i mailed the owner already. it does mention that recording with a mic and preamp is possible.
fingers crossed
-
to bad, someone told me the max is 256 in mp3. no levelchanging on the fly. no known timelimit
-
*yawn*
-
does the unit have to be in the cradle to use the line in?
-
as far as i know it does not. there is a pack you have to put on the machine and then you have a line-in and out.
-
No digital in? I'll pass...
-
I think a digi-in is way to much to asked for a 'consumer' unit like this. I dont need one if it just has all the rest....
how difficult is it to create something that:
a. has good visible levels (with light)
b. can record straight to wav for 3 hours
c. eeuh...drops no sounds.
All i ask
-
on the other hand....this unit has a remote, is very small but with good levels. For the stealthtaper this unit is almost excellent.....you can really get up front without anyone noticing.
we just could try and record in...mp3..can't we?
Do i need a smack on the head??

maybe more than one smack ;)

Forgetting its recording shortcomings, this unit supports flac playback and basic research strongly suggests that it lacks the reliability/flimzness problems of the rio karma.
Plus, it is a "universal external device" meaning it can be plugged into the usb port on any modernish computer and be automatically recognized as an external drive with all of its contents accesable. Plus, it will recharge via the usb cable.
Sounds like just the playback device I've been waiting for.

plus it has a built-in high quality voice record!!! I'm getting it just for that

All I ask is for a JB3 in a smaller size. The JB3 can do everything you just named, plus it has an optical in. I really don't think it's too much to ask for considering the JB3 came out so long ago.
-
what about this it seems to have digital in.
