anyone know thing one about these? i was home before i went to charleston and we were at one of my little brothers friend's houses drinking and i saw two of these. they said electret condenser on the side. they had a plug that came straight out of the body (connected to the body) and ended in a 1/4 in, but the end was kind of rounded. seemed weird. he didn't know much about them, don't even think they were his. just wondering what these would/could be used for. they seemed to be powered by a double AA, just from playing with it. i searched google but found very little...

edit: are they worth anything?

anybody??? what could run 2 mics that both end in 1/4 in cable into?

Honestly...probably a Karaoke machine or something similar. The 2 AA batteries leads me to believe that as well.

they don't look like karaoke mics

found a photo.

Take them out and run them. They might not sound that bad. I have screwed around with some old mics and gotten suprising results

By those mounts and stands, they might just be voice mics, maybe for interview recordings and whatnot. What's the frequency response look like?

Oh - I thought that pic was yours, and that you had the instruction manual with the charts. Not much way of telling otherwise. :P

nah, that's just photo i found on the net. like i said i can't find much info on the mics, hadn't seen that pic before, but i found it today

The probably have a response something like 80 - 13,000 - somewhat limited - but you might be suprised...13,000 is further up than most folks think...
My theory is that basically -ANY- electret condenser microphone sounds pretty good....the electret condenser is one of those pieces of technology that works...even the cheap ones work...
Give them a shot...maybe you can make a stealth rig out of them...
