Title: bag repair

well i just composed a more detailed message, and timed out oh well

ive got a bag that is deteroriating and i want to save it.  the other day the shoulder strap ring ripped out in transit, luckely the bag landed in a soft spot, a big mound of dirt.

any ideas on where or how to fix it?
the whole carrying system needs to be reenforced
i was thinking of taking it to a custom tailor intown, but that may be a bit much, not sure what he charges

A decent tailor or luggage repair shop ought to be able to replace the shoulder strap ring easily enough.  But if the bag fabric itself deteriorating, e.g. getting threadbare like an old t-shirt - fixing it won't help, it'll just keep breaking.  What's so special about the bag that it you wouldn't simply replace it?

it is the perfect bag for my current rig and a family heirloom i suppose. so if i can get it fixed for under 60, id feel that it was worthwhile.  the bag is similir to the portabrace bags in its functionality, only it is slightly outdated.
but if it is threadbare, then it maybe time to move on.


edit: well, brian you were right, the bag is toast.
