Title: external usb2.0 hard drive format?

what program can iuse to format or completely wipe an external usb2.0 hard drive

i have a program that i use on my pc somewhere, but i cant remember what it was called

i need to wipe everything from a pc hard drive and an external hard drive either seperatly or at the same time

in windows XP, locate the drive in windows explorer, right click over the drive and the menu should offer format.


if it is a raw disc:
control panel > administrative tools > computer management > storage > disc management
right click over the display of the disk that you want to manage and the menu should offer Format.

I am a HUGE fan of Partition Magic. It does it all, but yes Windows will do your basic formatting.

Edit:

You won't be able to format your C: while you are in Windows. You have to boot with the start-up disk and do it all from command line.
