Title: Onstage with LD's (MXL 1006 BP's Cards)
Post by: alienbobz on October 21, 2004, 05:01:09 PM
Planning on running an onstage recording in a few weeks. Trying to figure out what I need to do. I have Marshall MXL 1006 BP's cards. I have read on some posts that it is better to run omni's but I don't have that option. What would be a good configuration? I can pretty much only do ORTF's, DIN, and similar runs (vert bar is AKG bar). Any help would be great.

Any clue how to do that with the damn AKG bar? I can do it 45 degrees, but I heaed to avoid that with LD's.

If you can't do x/y, 2nd choice would be DIN 90*.

What would be a good place (online) to find one of those?

Also, where would be a good place to get a stand, and where would I need to setup (ie. by which monitor)? Thanks for the help :D.

Edit: Looked around at different rig pictures to get the mental image of how to do this properly and I think I have figured it out. Going to stop at Guitar Center after work for the equipment. +T to both of you :D.

I agree with CraigT..   then again..  the only way ive liked large diaphagms XY is if you are real close to the soundsource (ie: onstage).. actually most configurations sound good onstage tho, with some being better than others..

ymmv
